Fr. Ikeke’s Corner

We are please to present Fr. Ikeke, an African priest, now a “Native New Yorker” studying at Fordham University. He is the author of 25 books. He has coined the term “Potentiality Thinking”.

• Against Principalities and Powers - The Christian life must be a life of constant vigilance. Jesus said: “Watch and pray at all times that you do not fall into temptation.” St Peter said: “Be vigilant at all times for your enemy the devil is prowling round like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” While being grateful for all the blessings of life we must equally acknowledge that life is also a state of warfare.
   
• Blessed and Highly Favored - “We are not trying to get blessed by God. We are already blessed and highly favored. God made you and loaded you with blessings. You are made for a blessing, not for a curse. The opposite of a blessing is a curse. You can live your life in blessing. You can live a blessed life. The possibilities and potentialities for a blessed life lie in you. Every thing about you is blessed. You were designed and programmed with seeds of blessings.” ...
   
• Surviving the Belly of the Fish -The book of Jonah records that when Jonah disobeyed God, he came to find himself in the belly of the fish. Imagine what it will mean to be in the belly of the fish. The fish belly is a painful place. It is a place not to desire to be. It is filled with rotten flesh of what the fish had swallowed. In the belly's fish you will become sick. In the belly's fish you are standing between life and death.
   
• Breaking The Power Of Intimidation - All human persons have suffered intimation in one way or the other in life. Our duty is to destroy all kinds of intimidation from our lives. While many people may have succeeded in breaking the power of intimidation out of their lives, some people are still leveled by the power of intimidation.
