Surviving the Belly of the Fish
The book of Jonah records that when Jonah disobeyed
God, he came to find himself in the belly of the fish. Imagine what it will mean to be in the belly of the fish. The fish belly is a painful place. It is a place not to desire to be. It is filled with rotten flesh
of what the fish had swallowed. In the belly's fish you will become sick. In the belly's fish you are standing between life and death.
What Jonah did in the belly's fish is remarkable and worth remembering. Instead of settling down to hopelessness, despair, and dejection; Jonah
began to pray and thank God for deliverance. He did not settle down in self-pity thinking of his past and refusal to obey God. He prayed his way from the belly of the fish.
As Jonah was claiming his deliverance, he began to notice the turning of the fish belly. The fish was beginning to find it very difficult and inconveniencing
to carry Jonah. The fish was in danger of being blasted to death with Jonah's hot prayers. The only way to survive was to vomit Jonah. This is precisely what the fish did.
Let me tell you, when you begin to offer radical prayers and claim your deliverance, every fish that has swallowed your finances, your health and your
prosperity will vomit them.
Potentiality Action Key: When you confront what you find uncomfortable, the uncomfortable situation is likely going to find you uncomfortable, and let you go free.
Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, help me with power to make the fish belly uncomfortable.
