GOD WILL NEVER ABANDON YOU; AND YOUR TRUE FRIENDS WILL BE THERE FOR YOU
I warn you the hour is coming, has indeed already come, when you are to be scattered
each to his own home, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. John 16:32
The above statement was made by Jesus to his disciples, during his last
meal before his death. He anticipates and envisions how his twelve disciples will abandon him and flee for their lives. The courage of the disciples failed them when they abandon Jesus at his trials.
Peter one of his closest denied him three times. Judas the treasurer of the apostolic band betrayed him. At the cross only John and some women seem to be there looking from afar.
One of the greatest pains you can experience in life is that of rejection and being abandoned by those you love and those who had been close to you.
Yet even in the time of greatest pain there will be some true friends who will stick by your side. They will stay by you come rain, come shine. You will come
to know your friends in adversity. Your time of adversity is a time of testing for your friends. Some of them will pass this test some of them will fail.
Jonathan was a true friend to David. He risked the wrath of his father as he defended and spoke for David. The four friends of the man with paralysis
were true friends. They took their friends to Jesus. Mary was a true friend to Elizabeth. She visited Elizabeth when Elizabeth was pregnant. John the
Baptist was a true friend to Jesus in humbling himself and giving the glory to Jesus. The father of the prodigal son was a true friend to his son forgiving him all his past and celebrating to welcome him home.
I believe one of the greatest proofs of friendship is the ability to forgive a friend when a friend goes wrong. You forgive your friend and stick by your
friend and not join in those attacking your friend. The claim to love will amount to nothing, when you are not willing to forgive a friend. What kind of love will always blame a friend for past mistakes?
Jesus was a friend to many in his days and many of all times. He forgave the woman caught in the act of adultery instead of condemning her. He welcomed Peter and his disciples back even when they abandoned him and
fled for their lives. He did not abandon the woman with the issue of blood. He conversed with the woman by the well instead of fleeing from her for having being involved in many men.
Let me tell me in the name of God, your brightest days are coming. You are moving from rejection to rejoicing. God will never abandon you. There will be
a true friend by you at your time of need. You are not going to die in that sickness. This is your time of upliftment. See the good things happening
around you. Open your life to prosperity. I pray that the best will always come in your future. I will see you again.
